Aubergine Long Purple is one of the most commonly grown varieties in the world. Medium size fruits of elongated shape, deep violet colour and good flavour. Feed as you would tomatoes.

WHERE TO SOW:

Space the seeds 2cm apart in seed trays or two to a cell in modules under glass at 20°C. Cover lightly with compost.

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

As soon as two full leaves have developed, prick off seedlings into individual pots. Grow on and plant in growbags or large pots. Plants can be transplanted outside in a sunny sheltered spot.

HANDY TIP:  Some support is beneficial. Watch out for the calyx, it can be prickly and painful.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE:    A good source of pro-vitamin A, vitamin C and potassium.
