Beet Leaf Flamingo, as the name suggests, produces a pinky-red stemmed leaf. Can be picked for baby leaf (great in salads) or left to mature for use in cooking.
Sow & Harvest Dates:
Sow in April; Harvest in July.
Growing Information:
Beet Leaf takes 12 weeks from sowing to harvest. Beet Leaf is sown in April in rows 2.5cm deep and 30 cm apart.
When the seedlings emerge and are large enough to handle, thin to 20cm apart.
Keep well watered and weed free.
Start harvesting outer leaves leaving central foliage to develop. |
