Calabrese Chevalier has good, dome-shaped heads, followed by lots of secondary growth. Ideal variety for freezing.

WHERE TO SOW
Sow the seeds thinly in trays or two seeds to a cell in modules under glass at 13°C. Later sowings can be made into a seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep in short rows.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
As soon as first pair of leaves appear, prick off into trays 5cm apart, or thin modules to one seedling per cell. Gradually harden off before planting in the growing site 45cm apart. Outdoor sowings should be thinned as they grow before planting out.
HANDY TIPS
Cut the central head when 10-15cm across. This will be followed by numerous small spears for a second crop.
