Herb Angelica is a biennial. The plant grows up to 2 metres in height, with a long hollow stem and fleshy roots. In it's second year, after flowering, it will die away, but side shoots live on and in this way you will enjoy an ongoing supply. Useful for medicinal purposes and for confectionery. It also provides the distinctive taste in Gin and Vermouth.
Sow & Harvest Dates:
Sow in late summer/autumn. Will flower in the second year. Roots can be harvested from year 1.
Growing Instructions:
If left to flower this plant will happily self seed. To grow from seed either scatter directly onto surface in final location, or sow in pots in the in a well ventilated green house for planting out in the Spring.
