Leek Jolant
Leek Jolant is a very early variety with a mild flavour. Use for mini-veg or grow on to harvest from August onwards. Grows vigorously and gives a high-density stem.

Where To Sow: Sow the seeds thinly in a well prepared seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep in short rows. Can also be sown earlier in trays under glass for exhibition work.
What To Do Next: Thin seedlings as they grow to 5cm apart. When the seedlings are about the thickness of a pencil, they should be lifted and transplanted. Make a hole 15cm deep with a rod, trim off the ends of roots and tops off the leaves, drop into hole and fill with water. Do not fill the hole with soil.
Handy Tip: To save hard labour, try sowing 3 seeds to a module and transplanting into growing site and gradually earth up during the season.
Nutritional Value: High in folic acid, potassium, pro-vitamin A and vitamin C.
