WHERE TO SOW:
Sow the seeds thinly in shallow drills 1cm deep in the growing site. Keep well watered.
WHAT TO DO NEXT:
Thin the seedlings as they grow to about 15cm apart. The thinnings can be transplanted and will mature a little later. Finally, thin to 30cm apart using the plants you remove as salad leaves.
HANDY TIP: All lettuces require a regular supply of water but Crisphead varieties require even more.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE: A good source of antioxidants such as beta-carotene, lutein and vitamin C as well as vitamin K.
