Where To Sow: Early sowings under glass at 13°C either in trays or modules. Later sowings direct in growing site 1cm deep with 30 cm between rows.
What To Do Next: Early sowings should be thinned as they grow, modules thinned to single seedlings to a cell, and hardened off quickly before planting out 30cm apart each way. Thin outdoor sowings to 30cm apart.
Handy Tip: Even ‘cut and come again’ types won’t last all Summer, so sow new supplies at fortnightly intervals.
Nutritional Value: A good source of antioxidants such as beta-carotene, lutein and vitamin C as well as vitamin K.
