Melon Blenheim Orange is an old and tried variety of wonderful flavour, slightly netted skin and scarlet flesh. A real favourite with Victorian gardeners.

SOW:    May to early June

HARVEST:   August to September

WHERE TO SOW

Under glass at 20ƒC. Two seeds per pot.  Maintain the temperature both day and night. Keep the plants moist but not waerlogged and plant in the glasshouse border or in grow bags in late March or April.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

Thin to the strongest seedlings, grow on and transplant when 10cm tall into large individual pots, growbags or greenhouse border. Train up wires or sticks.  Will do well in sheltered sunny spot in the open or transplanted into cold frames early in their growing period. Hand pollination will be needed and male flowers must be removed after they have been used. Water well every day.
