Parsnip Javelin is a bayonet shaped hybrid variety, giving high yields with a good percentage marketable. Large roots, with good canker resistance, and a low incidence of fanging.

WHERE TO SOW:

Sow the seeds thinly, direct into the growing site, 2cm deep in rows 45cm apart. A stone free tilth is preferable.

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

Do not transplant seedlings. As soon as seedlings appear they should be gradually thinned until plants are 10cm apart. Hoe regularly but ensure you do not damage the crown or the root.

HANDY TIP:  As parsnips occupy ground for a long time, grow a quick maturing vegetable like Lettuce or Radish between the rows.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE:  Good source of energy boosting Carbohydrates. High in vitamin C and potassium.
